Yo.

I’ve started reading the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It’s pretty good. :)

New poem…”Crisis”

Breathing in deep, the chill spring air.

Dusk is approaching while I stand and stare.

Memories flash, more than I can bare.

I think, all the while being there.

Surely, I’m here for a reason.

Not just to pass with each season.

Maybe it’s just a cosmic teasin’.

One ending with me wheezin’.

Let’s get lost, you and I.

It’s something we both can deny.

Would you sit with me while I cry?

Sometimes, I’d rather not say goodbye.

Why is this so hard to do?

Why can’t the world forget me and you?

We can go back to being brand new.

Yeah, that’s where we can go to.

So much to left to say.

Thought my demons were being kept at bay.

You were supposed to be there to stay.

But no, you were the last to betray.

All is gone now.

Not much more I can allow.

I am left with just wow.

Can’t get out of my bed now.

Night has fallen over us.

No more need to make a fuss,

Words not left to discuss.

Nothing at all left of us.

My biggest fear is finally in.

I have been forgotten.

Poem: Identity

Life is different paths.

People are travelers.

We each try to get to our destinations.

We each get lost along the way.

In being lost, we find ourselves.

We find what is true.

A journey fulfilled isn’t one that’s ended.

A journey finishes as it begins.

Life is a journey.

People are travelers.

And I’ve been lost along the way.

But in being lost, I’ve found myself.

When I reach my destination I’ll know.

Because I’ll have been the places I was meant to go.

”The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:        he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:        he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,        I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:        thou anointest my head with oil;my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:        and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

Okay, guys…

Hey there. It’s been a while since I actually did a blog about my life. Yeah, like anyone cares anyway, right? I don’t care.

Anywho, my friend and I finally got our Anti-Bullying Club approved by our school board. It took long enough. Two months of my life wasted because my principal lost the info we gave her. -.- I’m just excited now that we can actually do things. :)

I’m actually doing stuff this school as opposed to previous years. I’m in the musical. I joined book club. Plus, I started my own club. With all that, I have my actual classes to keep up with, plus all these standardized tests and finals I’ll be taking in the Spring. Fun stuff. Not.

Also, I’m going to be writing a one act play for this contest thing soon. I have a vague idea of what I what to do. It’s just a matter of actually sitting down and doing it. I’ve never written a play before. I have a feeling there are going to be losts of rewrites on it.

Come February 17th, I’ll be at Katsucon 2012! I’m so excited for that. I’m going to get to meet J. Michael Tatum. Whoo! I also will be getting my permit next month. YAY for doing things!

So, today I was in AP English and we were doing Study Island (STUPID, btw) and one of the poems I had to read and answer questions for was Fire and Ice by Robert Frost. It is, by far, one of my favorite poems.

Fire and Ice by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Let me take a moment to discuss my interpretation of this poem. I heard somewhere that Frost meant this poem to a symbol for the end of a relationship. Fire and Ice. Well, I can definitely understand how a relationship could end in either. Ice—it would be a relationship that ends coldly, almost numbly. You’d have been so effected by it. You’d never be able to fully lose the chill of it. It would haunt you. A relationship ending in Fire, well. That’s different. That kind of ending wouldn’t really be over. You’d have that left over spark of desire. It’s those relationships that are bittersweet. That could go on forever. The Ice ones, though—they’re just done. They don’t get a second chance.

But which is more painful? Frost claims they both hold pain, but he likes Fire, perhaps because to him it’s less painful?

Who knows?

Ice—losing someone you loved forever, being haunted by their memory, feeling cold and numb…

Fire—an ongoing affair, but it’s never stable. However constant it appears, it could burn up or out. Though the spark will always remain, however you feel, it would be enough. So many heartbreaks…

Well, it’s an impossible question to answer. I just wanted to reflect on it. And if you’re wondering which I favor. It’s Fire. Why? Maybe I’m a masochist. I just like the thought that the relationship I had with someone I cared about isn’t truly over. That maybe someday we could pick it up again and continue on, regardless of what pain might come. I’d take the risk, but that’ me. I’ve always been an impulsive person. Or maybe stupid. I don’t know.

If we don’t have school tomorrow, I’ll post up some of my own poetry and explain some of it. Maybe. We’ll see.

Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for reading my insane thoughts. :p

Why you should never drunk text a Whovian.

  • A friend of mine randomly got a drunk text from a stranger. She then did something that has earned my respect and awe. A transcript of her conversation follows. Some of this may be familiar to you.
  • Warning: VERY LONG. Also, words that I don't like have been bleeped out. Use your imagination.
  • [Transcript] Drunk Person: "tortyly drunk riht now. straight men everwhere."
  • Erykah: "Oh, thank God! I finally made contact! Listen, I need your help, but you're in great danger."
  • DP: "ni**a say wat?"
  • E: "Listen, my name's the Doctor. I'm a time traveler, or I was. I'm stuck in 1969 with my friend and I need your help to get my spaceship back."
  • DP: "u hav a spceshit?"
  • E: "Yes. It's a big blue box that says 'Police Call Box' on it."
  • DP: "dat doesnt sound liek a spceshp. gay."
  • E: "Hey! Don't diss the TARDIS!"
  • DP: "tarsiddd???"
  • E: "No. TARDIS. Time And Relative Dimension In Space. You see, I'm a Time Lord from ANOTHER planet called Gallifrey."
  • DP: "y u not there now?"
  • E: "Well...A long time ago, there was a war and all my people died except for me. I'm the last Time Lord. So I travel through time and space lending a hand wherever I can."
  • DP: "woahhhh. thats relly sad."
  • E: "Yes, it is. But now is no time to cry. You're in a lot of danger and you need to help me."
  • DP: "waot. how r u in 1996?"
  • E: "I'm in 1969. And it's really complicated."
  • DP: "oh."
  • E: "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff."
  • DP: "im cofussed."
  • E: "Well, try and keep up! Never mind the wibbly stuff. All that matters is that they've taken it! The angels have the phone box."
  • DP: "wut angels?"
  • E: "Have you ever seen like a statue of an angel? At a church or a cemetary or something?"
  • DP: "ya."
  • E: "Well, they're not angels. They're creatures from another worlds. Aliens like me, except they're very, very bad."
  • DP: "dat maeks sense. they alwys creepeed me out. i thought theyre jus statues tho."
  • E: "Good eye, you've got. But they're not. They're only statues when you're looking directly at them. Once you look away, they become deadly."
  • DP: "whaaa?"
  • E: "Listen, Lonely assassins, they were called. No-one knows where they came from. They're as old as the universe, or very nearly. They've survived this long as they have the most perfect defence system ever evolved. They are quantum-locked. They don't exist when being observed. The moment they're seen by any other living creature they freeze into rock. No choice. It's a fact of their biology. In the sight of any living thing, they literally turn to stone. And you can't kill a stone. Course, a stone can't kill you either. But then you turn your head away, then you blink, and oh, yes it can! Notice how they always look like they're crying in the cemetaries? They're always covering their eyes?"
  • DP: "dats nuts! ya, ive seen dat."
  • E: "There's a reason for that. They're not weeping, they can't risk looking at each other. Their greatest asset is their greatest curse. They can never be seen. The loneliest creatures in the universe. And I'm sorry, I am very, very sorry, it's up to you now.
  • DP: "but wut can i do? tis was all thrustted uopn me!"
  • E: "The blue box, it's my time machine. There is a world of time energy in there they could feast on forever. The damage they can do can switch off the sun. You have got to send it back to me!"
  • DP: "ahhhhhh!!! im scrrd! idk wut 2 do! im srsly gon hav a pnic attck."
  • E: I'm afraid I can't help you any further. I'm stuck in 1969, but I think you're clever enough to think of something. FIND THE BLUE BOX AND GET IT BACK TO ME! The angels have it and you NEED to find it or it's all going to be over."
  • DP: "dont go doctr! help me!11211!!"
  • E: "They're coming. The angels are coming for you. But listen, your life could depend on this. Don't blink! Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast, faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink! Good luck!"
  • DP: "ik! angels hng out in gravyards rite? ill check thar 1st."
  • E: "Wherever you feel the need to look. I have no idea because I'm trapped 42 years in the past. Wherever you do go, just remember DON'T BLINK."
  • DP: "omfg. holy shit. i'll find teh box and teh angels and ill text u wen i find it. goodbi doctr. uve liked changgged me life."
